Jim Hails is an independent filmmaker and musician located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He grew up in a quiet rural area and has always been drawn to the strange, surreal, and dream-like aspects of living in the US. He incorporates these unusual elements in his filmmaking and musical process, which include directing, editing, sound design, composing, and more. He has learned to enjoy every aspect of filmmaking from studying and earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinema Production from Point Park University in 2022.

Shortly after Jim graduated, he went on to gain professional experience being a production & locations assistant for studio films and TV shows, such as Netflix's "Sweet Girl", FX's "Justified: City Primeval", and Paramount+'s "Mayor of Kingstown". He has since gained more appreciation for independent and freelance work in the Pittsburgh area. Having a love for music since a young age, he has focused on using his film production skills to make promo and music videos for local music artists. He has also created musical projects under multiple monikers, including Bugabot, frogesque, Stone the Wizard, and We'll Be Right Back.

Outside of filmmaking and music, Jim will spend his time cooking, drawing, drinking coffee/tea, running, or skiing.
